Knysna

It is not difficult to see why Knysna is South Africa’s fastest growing tourist destination along the Garden Route. With one of the highest percentages of rainfall in South Africa and a surrounding of 80 000 ha of thick indigenous forest, Knysna hosts a wide variety of natural beauty, birdlife and sea life, including the rare Knysna sea horse. The forest is even home to mysterious wild elephants whose rare sightings keep the locals intrigued. Knysna offers numerous sights and activities, and is also close to the beautiful Tsitsikamma National Park and wildlife sanctuaries.

On our tours which include Knysna we visit the Elephant Sanctuary where you can experience magical moments and close encounters with young elephants. We also include a trip to Birds of Eden, the largest single free-flight aviary in the world, situated in indigenous forest with waterfalls and elevated walkways. Afterwards you can then relax on a Boat Cruise on Knysna's lagoon where the famous Knysna heads rock formations guard the entrance to the sea. From the boat discover the harmony of nature as we glide alongside the island paradise, the Featherbed Nature Reserve.

There will be a free morning where you can book a Tsitsikamma activity with us, visit a sanctuary or take advantage of this leisure time to explore the town of Knysna.

Tsitsikamma Adventures

The word Tsitsikamma comes from an old Khoisan phrase meaning ‘place of abundant water’. Gently glide along in a harness on steel cables 30 meters above the forest floor. Safety is paramount and the system has been built to the highest civil engineering standards. Guides are fully-trained.

Waterfalls zipline tour

The zipline tour consists of three waterfalls situated along an 800m stretch of river with spectacular views. Oudtshoorn

The
Cango Caves is what originally put this small town on the map and is South Africa’s oldest tourist attraction. On a tour through the caves you will learn how old these caves are as the Khoisan were the first to use these caves as shelter.

Oudtshoorn is also known as the ostrich capital of the world; producing feathers, leather products and ostrich meat. Here, there is the opportunity to visit an Ostrich farm and the Cango Wildlife Ranch which has a wide variety of wildlife viewing and interacting with wildlife.
